Power Automate Series: Templates for Business

In today’s fast-paced business environment, efficiency is key. This is where Microsoft Power Automate comes in, offering a range of prebuilt templates that can automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes. These are the five most popular templates.

1. Invoice Processing One of the most common uses of Power Automate is for invoice processing. The ‘Automate invoice processing’ template can extract data from invoices, validate it, and then store it in a SharePoint list or send it to an approval workflow. This not only saves time but also reduces the risk of errors. Imagine not having to look over invoices for approval again.

2. Sales Follow-ups The ‘Automated sales follow-ups’ template can be a game-changer for sales teams. It can automatically send follow-up emails to leads or customers based on certain triggers, such as a period of inactivity or after a sales call. Finally, an email drip campaign tool that is built into Outlook where I want to keep my emails.

3. Project Management For project management, the ‘Create Planner tasks and notify the team for a selected project’ template is incredibly useful. It creates tasks in Planner based on project details and sends notifications to the team, keeping everyone on the same page. Most projects do not require elaborate PM software. They just need someone that keeps the team on track. Now you can preplan everything at the beginning, automatically sending remeinders and updates.

4. Customer Support The ‘Automated customer support’ template can automatically respond to customer queries received via email or other channels. It can categorize queries, send automated responses for common questions, and route more complex queries to the appropriate team member.

5. Social Media Monitoring Finally, the ‘Social media monitoring’ template allows businesses to keep track of their social media presence. It can monitor mentions of your business across various platforms and alert you to any significant interactions. This is excellent for me. If there is a problem on social media, I want to know about it when it happens.

I hope this was helpful. If you want to learn more, please attend our AI conference on December 1 at the Darla Moore School.
